On Tuesday 13 July 21, we welcomed guests from a range of companies across the UK to take part in The Reginald Fessenden Challenge to raise funds for The NOT FORGOTTEN, a fantastic charity which provides entertainment, leisure and recreation for the serving wounded, injured or sick and for ex-service men and women with disabilities.
Money was also raised for the Submariners Memorial Appeal. In all £7.5k was donated to the two extremely worthy causes the event supports.
17 teams from some of the world’s leading military contractors supported the event, including: BMT; Clarion Events; Leonardo; Lockheed Martin; Northrop Grumman; QINETIQ; Raytheon (UK); SAAB Seaeye Ltd; Safran; Scientific Management International; Servowatch Systems Ltd; SEA; Stirling Dynamics/Expleo; THALES; &, ULTRA Maritime.
The teams arrived in Port Hamble on Tuesday afternoon for a wonderful evening of networking in the Royal Southern Yacht Club, which included a drinks reception with drinks provided by our lifestyle partners Mount Gay Rum & Salcombe Gin.

Notably, the bottle of Single Malt Whisky originally donated by 40 Cdo. RM in 2017 re-donated of THALES UK in 2018; re-donated by Christopher in 2019 and kindly re-donated by THALES in both 2020 and 2021 was again won by THALES.
A delicious breakfast, sponsored by Raytheon (UK), of a bacon bap, freshly squeezed orange juice was taken on Wednesday before the yachts headed out on the water for a morning of training, and the all important races themselves.
After a cracking day the teams headed back to Port Hamble Marina where new comers to the event ,Servowatch Systems Ltd lifted the Reginald Fessenden Challenge 2021 Trophy!
